Baguio is one of the cities that opened its borders to tourists who want to take a break from being cooped up at home. Having been quarantined for more than a year already, it seems like a no-brainer to just go for the classics like Café By The Ruins, Farmer’s Daughter, Good Taste Café & Restaurant, Oh My Gulay, and Baguio Craft Brewery.
But if you’re staying there for a longer time and you want to try something new-discover a new favorite, perhaps-here are some new restaurants and cafés you can find in the City of Pines:
Gypsy Baguio by Chef Waya
Yes, Quezon City’s Gourmet Gypsy Art Café has opened a new branch in Baguo! Here, you get a similar experience with Gourmet Gypsy but what makes it different is that they also incorporate Baguio produce. They serve Fruit and Nut Salad, Salmon Avocado Toast, Spaghetti Al Nero, Indian Butter Chicken, Burnt Miso Butter Salmon.
Gypsy by Chef Waya is located at 6 Quezon Hill Road 2, Baguio City.
Le’ Bloom Mobile Café Baguio
A trip to Baguio isn’t complete without a stroll at Burnham Park! Once you’re here, you should find Le Bloom and try their Strawberry Donut (a popular item on the menu!) and pair it with your choice of beverage. They have coffee, iced tea, lemonade, “moon milk,” and tea.
Le’ Bloom is located at Burnham Park.
Peakcup Coffee
If you love a cafe with moody, minimalistic interiors, head on over to Peakcup Coffee-they also have a view to a sea of clouds! The café’s coffee menu covers the basics but if you want to try something new, go for their Ube Latté. Whichever drink you choose, you can pair it with their Smoked Pork Sandwich or Grilled Cheese. If #riceislife, you can opt for the Beef Tapa instead!
Peakcup Coffee is located at Mountain Side Pasalubong Center, Upper Poblacion, Tuba, Benguet.
Tan-aw sa Alang
Coffee with a view? We can’t say no to that! This new café also offers a sea-of-clouds experience. If you’re looking for good coffee, they serve what they call a Bassit, Dakkel, Dakdakkel. You can pair it with their Banana Bread (studded with dark chocolate chips and roasted walnuts!), Double Chocolate Chip Cookies, Seafood Lasagna, or you can go for a more local meal like the Pinikpikan Noodle Soup.
Tan-aw sa Alang is located at Begis, Poblacion, Tuba, Benguet. According to their Facebook, if you’re coming from Baguio, it’s a 300-meter drive past the Badiwan viaduct/tunnel-you can find them along Marcos Highway on the right side of the road.
Yolk Korean Egg Sandwiches
Another food truck you can find at Burnham Park is the Yolk Food Truck. They serve Korean egg sandwiches that are known for having a fluffy scrambled egg in the middle of soft brioche buns. Depending on what sandwich you order, your Korean egg sandwich can be stuffed with cheese, bacon, and if you like it spicy, they also have one with sriracha!
Yolk Korean Egg Sandwiches is located at Burnham Park and at SM Baguio.
