SAN JUAN, Batangas is gaining ground as a leisure and meetings destination, and property developer DMCI Homes is positioning its upcoming Solmera Beach Park Resort to capture the growing demand.
Set to open in February 2027, the beach park resort will combine accommodations, recreation, dining and events facilities within DMCI Homes’ 7.5-hectare Solmera Coast beachfront estate. The project is designed to cater to both leisure travelers and organized groups, supporting the municipality’s emerging meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) market.
The resort is part of DMCI Homes’ broader push into the leisure and hospitality business, extending its experience in resort-inspired residential developments into full-scale destinations. The company has established DMCI Hospitality and Leisure Inc., operating under the DMCI Resorts brand, to manage its leisure properties.
For San Juan, the development comes as the province benefits from its coastal attractions and accessibility from Metro Manila.
Beach getaway
Solmera Beach Park Resort is being designed around the idea of bringing leisure and business events together.
Its convention facilities will include a main function hall, complemented by a veranda and additional venues in the Kartika and Bumi buildings. Roof deck venues, landscaped lawns and open-air spaces will provide more options for meetings, receptions and social gatherings.
The resort will also offer studio units and one- and two-bedroom suites for individuals, families and groups. A pool complex spanning more than 4,000 square meters will include a lap pool, kiddie pool and pool pavilion. Guests will also have access to elevated amenities at the Matahari Building.
Dining will form another part of the development, with an all-day restaurant, specialty restaurant, roof deck restaurant, lobby bar, snack bar and food kiosks planned across the property. Spa and wellness facilities will also be available.
Beyond leisure, the resort is designed to accommodate a range of gatherings, from corporate functions and conferences to training programs and celebrations.
Hospitality business
The San Juan project also serves as the starting point for DMCI Homes’ new hospitality arm.
DMCI Resorts will operate the hotel and resort components of properties under the DMCI Homes Leisure Residences brand, allowing the developer to build dedicated expertise in hospitality operations alongside its established residential development business.
DMCI Homes president Alfredo Austria said the company’s immediate priority was to establish the systems and personnel needed to deliver consistent service across its leisure developments.
The company is tapping experienced hospitality professionals to handle day-to-day operations and build service standards for the new business.
Aside from Solmera Beach Park Resort, DMCI Homes is also developing Moncello Crest, an eco-agri resort condotel in Tuba, Benguet, while another nature park project is planned in Calamba, Laguna.
Austria said the company’s expansion into leisure represents an extension of its resort-inspired approach—this time moving from creating residential communities with vacation-style amenities to operating destinations where hospitality, recreation and events form the core offering.
At Solmera Beach Park Resort, the goal is to make the property more than a weekend beach destination: a place where families can spend time together, companies can hold events, and local businesses can benefit from a growing flow of visitors.
