Makati in Cavite? Property giant Megaworld has taken inspiration from Makati’s Central Business District in developing this township. It is located in historic General Trias where Emilio Aguinaldo and Mariano Trias were elected as the revolutionary government’s first president and vice-president, respectively, during the Tejeros Convention.
Maple Grove
This vast area of 140 hectares called Maple Grove will soon be surrounded by cafes, restaurants and retail shops in a unique mix of commercial, residential, and office development. This upscale community will likely attract Cavite executives and future residents of Cavite’s business district. There will be reverse migration when Manilan residents relocate to General Trias, Cavite.
Accessibility is not an issue because it is a mere 30 to 45 minute drive from the Makati CBD, BGC, and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport via the Coastal Road and CAVITEX. Future infrastructure projects such as LRT 1 – Cavite Extension, Sangley Airport, Cavitex-Calax link, Cavite-Tagaytay-Batangas Expressway (CTBEX) and Bataan – Cavite Interlink Bridge make Maple Grove a strategic location.
As in many Megaworld townships, a McDonald’s welcomes you. There will be a transport hub, bike lanes, and jogging tracks. Maple Grove will have a six-lane boulevard and landscaped open spaces and pocket gardens. To make it sustainable, it has a two-hectare rainwater park, central material recovery facility and a sewage treatment plant. A chapel and an outdoor futsal court complete the community.
The Verdin
At the heart of Maple Grove is The Verdin. This is a residential condominium which features 140 units ranging in sizes from studio (up to 32 sqm), one bedroom (up to 50.5 sqm), and two bedrooms (up to 79 sqm).
Green is in and The Verdin shows it. Sustainable, recycled and indigenous materials such as bamboo veneer and wood plastic composite in various components and amenities are used. Solar panels are utilized in the roof deck garden. As a gym nut, I was pleasantly surprised that their gym converts physical effort into electricity. There is a linear park with a reflexology path where you can walk barefoot. An airy lapping pool is hard to resist. Children may use the kiddie pool, play area, and day care. For quiet time, there is a reading nook and sitting area. The condominium is inspired by contemporary tropical architecture. There are artworks and the lobby has a distinct scent.
Commercial District
Soon to rise is the Maple Grove Commercial, a master planned 35-hectare walkable and environmentally sustainable business district. Top multinational firms wishing to establish or strengthen their presence in the CALABARZON area would find this location ideal.
La Cassia Residences
Another residential component is La Cassia Residences. Soon to rise, it is 16-storeys high and offers 238 units (including those with either lanai or balcony). Amenities include a swimming pool, roofdeck garden, function hall, fitness center, daycare center, and a walkway area.
Maple Grove Park Village
Within Maple Grove is Maple Grove Park Village, an upscale residential village. This luxury resort-inspired community was designed by Wimberly, Allison, Tong and Goo (WATG), the same group behind Shangri-La Maldives, Sofitel Bali, Shangri-La Boracay, and Hilton Manila. It features 377 lots ranging in size from 280 sqm to 518 sqm and is highlighted by five different types of lush gardens spread across the entire development.
Office Component
To complement the residential units is One Corporate Place, 17 storeys high offering 93 select office units ranging from 60 sqm to 280.5 sqm. It has features that include a roof-deck garden, use of energy-saving LED lights in common areas and its own Material Recovery Facility (MRF) for waste segregation. It also features its own Building Management System (BMS), a 24-hour security and Fire Command Center and a Seismic Detection and Monitoring System. Most important are the stand-by generator for 100 percent back-up power, fire security system, water reservoir with separate fire reserve water tanks and a 24-hour CCTV monitoring system.
Retail Component
No community is complete without a mall. The Maple Grove Mall is a two-level mall with around 24,000 sqm of gross floor area. It will host retail and F & B outlets, indoor events area and supermarket. For entertainment, there will be four cinemas. The Maple Grove Mall will maximize natural sunlight while maintaining a cool temperature inside the building.
Megaworld is the country’s largest developer of integrated urban township and lifestyle communities. Maple Grove is the first-ever modern Central Business District in Cavite. General Trias, a first class component city, is the perfect choice. Thrive in the vibe of an eco-friendly mega city. Go south. Go green. Go Verdin. Go Mega!
