The first Phase of the P65 Billion 11.7 kilometer LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project has reached 73 percent overall progress rate, private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) announced Wednesday, October 12.
Electromechanical works, such as the laying of rails and installation of the electrical system are ongoing, as well as the construction of the additional five new LRT-1 stations for Phase 1: Redemptorist, MIA, PITX Asia World, Ninoy Aquino, and Dr. Santos.
Trackwork installation is now halfway complete and work in nonstop on the project, according to LRMC.
Simultaneous installations of pre-track assembly, shear connector, rebar, formworks support for track plinth, concrete pouring, and derailment wall have been done.
With the project in full swing, the installation of tracks and overhead catenary system on the viaduct will continue at Ninoy Aquino Station.
This required a temporary closure of a portion of the outer lane, or Northbound section of Imelda Bridge linking Barangays La Huerta and Sto. Niño in Parañaque City on 10 October 2022 until 10 November 2022 (9pm-4am daily).
This is to give way to the casting of concrete plinths and pedestals in the area.
Column and pier cleanup, including finishing works, will also commence at CAVITEX-Parañaque Bridge starting 7AM of 15 October until 11AM of 16 October 2022.
This will require temporary closure of the inner, leftmost northbound of the carriageway.
Motorists are advised to plan their trips ahead and take alternative routes.
