For many, progress in Mindanao can be gleaned from Davao Region. Agriculture and other industries have been booming; investors are flocking here; and the government has been supporting and positioning the place for further growth and expansion.
But while other businesses have just started expanding here, some like Camella have long seen the strong potential of Davao and the rest of Mindanao. Nearly three decades ago, Camella already brought in this region its promise of value-for-money homes in masterplanned communities that are safe and secure while ensuring convenience, accessibility and capital appreciation for its residents.
Today, it can readily say it was right, now reaping the rewards reserved only for first-movers and pioneers.
The flagship brand of Vista Land and Lifescapes Inc. has helped thousands in the southern Philippines to realize their dream of living in desirable addresses. Camella’s proud portfolio of townships in up to 47 provinces now includes six Vista Estates and a footprint of close to 500 ha in Davao Region alone.
The brand is present in the provincial capital of Davao del Norte, Tagum. There, it has Camella Tagum Trails, a 15-ha Italian-Mediterranean community where residents enjoy access to magnificent amenities as well as opportunities for upward mobility.
In Davao Del Sur, it has an even more impressive portfolio. In Davao City’s Toril district for example, it has the 10-ha Camella Toril—a development that offers residents tranquil surroundings, exclusivity and open spaces, which comprise a third of the entire estate. Despite this, people can conveniently reach the urban establishments, service areas and business centers. You can also choose another property in Matina called Positano, an eco-tourism endeavor.
If you are the globe-trotting type, consider a home in Camella Davao, just two minutes away from Davao International Airport. It is in Communal, Buhangin district. Camella also has options in the districts of Talomo (Camella Solariega and Camella Toscano) and Tugbok (Camella Cerritos). South of the capital city, the 10-ha Camella Digos beckons. It is an Italian-inspired development in the heart of Digos, the so-called Gate City of The South.
Expressing its continued confidence in Davao Region, Camella went beyond horizontal developments and ventured into vertical villages.
Currently on the market is Camella Manors Northpoint, a premier village that offers a way of life unmatched by other developments in the city.
This location represents a fondness for Davao both from its former owner, Scottish abaca magnate Robert Ker, and its current one, Camella. Ker arrived in Davao in the early 1900s to start an abaca business, building his home on Northpoint. Davao would turn into a center of abaca production by the 1920s. While operations would cease in 1961, Davaoeños still fondly remember Ker who believed in Davao the way Camella has. Ker is memorialized through The Wakefield Manor, once named The Ker House.
Camella Manors Northpoint has five sustainably designed midrise vertical villages with studio to three-bedroom units, plus limited-edition penthouse units. The community boasts age-old acacias and hundreds of evergreen Caribbean pine trees, which took P4 million to import from New Zealand.
An upcoming vertical project is Camella Manors Frontera, offering top-tier frontier living. Dwellers will reside in a resort-inspired community privileged with a breathtaking view of nature.
Aside from integrating fine amenities, superb security and topnotch property management, Camella has also ensured access to institutions like schools, hospitals, churches, transport hubs and places of leisure. Stepping further, it has now brought institutions into the communities and built self-contained “communicities.” This way, Camella and the bigger Vista Land group has been extending the breadth and depth of its products and bolstering local economies.
In Davao Region, it has commercial and retail projects as well as a Golden Haven Memorial Park in Tagum. A Villar SIPAG Farm School is also in the region, providing free training opportunities to farmers. These are small steps toward the future envisioned by Camella, where all communities will include a convenience store, retail shops, a mall, school, hospital and offices, among others.
Camella has redesigned the country’s landscape not only to solidify its presence but also to raise the profile of places that can be more, just like Davao Region.
