AboitizLand shifts to pre-cast technology

AboitizLand, the real estate arm of the Aboitiz Group, has started using precast concrete panels which it has installed in the housing units of its seaside development, Seafront Residences in San Juan, Batangas.

In a statement, the firm said its move to use precast technology over traditional concrete hollow blocks is done through a partnership with Connovate Philippines.

With AboitizLand’s thrust to innovate ways to bring more Filipinos home, Seafront Residences is the first development to use precast concrete panel technology, cutting the house construction period shorter and making homes stronger and more sustainable.

AboitizLand and Connovate made their partnership official in December 2021 to construct eco-friendly homes through Danish precast technology that uses high-strength concrete panels.

“The houses in Seafront Residences are designed to age gracefully, and these precast panels will reinforce houses against earthquakes and typhoons, making these homes withstand seaside living conditions,” said AboitizLand President and CEO David Rafael.

He noted that, “More importantly, this technology cuts the construction period by half making seaside living more attainable in a shorter period of time.”

“These AboitizLand designer houses will not only be the symbol of style but resilience. To stand the test of time and to be affordable over its lifecycle, new housing must be built with high structural integrity and energy efficiency,” said Connovate Philippines President and CEO Emma Imperial.

She added that, “We need to ensure that today’s efforts to address the housing needs will be matched with sustainable and resilient communities.”

As part of AboitizLand’s innovation and sustainability thrust, precast panel technology will soon be adapted by its other residential developments across the country.
