Dominating local and international headlines, Hidilyn Diaz made history as the first Filipino athlete who became an Olympic gold medalist. By now, you’ve probably heard that she’s not just going home with gold. The hailed athlete is coming home to millions of cash and lifetime incentives, promised by both the government and private companies.

On top of these, Diaz will have not one, not two, but three real estate assets. These are the property rewards she’s been offered so far:

House and Lot in Tagaytay

Earlier this month, Philippine Olympic Committee President Rep. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino announced that those who would snag the gold medal will have a house and lot reward in Tagaytay City. He even stated that if all the 19 athletes win, the organization is ready to give away 19 houses and lots. After Diaz’ historic win, Tolentino confirmed the prize awaiting her.

The value of the property wasn’t disclosed. However, Lamudi’s price index shows that the current price per square meter for properties in Tagaytay is P47,900. For a 100-sqm home, we could be looking at a value of almost P5 million.

Historically, the values of properties in Cavite have been going up. Diaz’ home is likely to appreciate further in the next years, as the province is set to benefit from big-ticket infrastructure projects, namely the Sangley International Airport, Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge, Cavite-Tagaytay-Batangas Expressway (CTBEX), LRT-1 Cavite Extension, and LRT-6.

P14-Million Condo Unit in Quezon City

Pledged by property developer Megaworld Corporation, the condo unit will be in the company’s first-ever township, Eastwood City. The exact building of the property wasn’t revealed, but it could be one of these ready-for-occupancy vertical communities within the estate:

  • One Eastwood Avenue. The all-glass facade of this two-tower residential building has direct access to Eastwood City’s Lifestyle Mall. The condo features a modern, fully-equipped gym, which is the centerpiece of the indoor amenity area on the seventh floor of Tower 1. Diaz’ workouts in here will never be boring as the facility has floor-to-ceiling windows that offer spectacular views. Meanwhile, the tower’s roof deck has two air-conditioned badminton courts. The sky gardens, which are three stories high, are filled with tropical plants and comfortable seating areas. Within the vicinity, you’ll find swimming pools for adults and kids, a lap pool, and function rooms.
  • Eastwood LeGrand 3This vertical village boasts of beautifully designed lofts, which can offer more space for Diaz and her family. Its outdoor amenities include a jogging path, a landscaped garden, and a lap pool and kiddie pool. Inside the building, there’s a fitness station, a massage and entertainment pavilion, a game room, a culinary station, and function rooms.
  • Grand Eastwood Palazzo. Reflecting European sophistication, this luxury residence has all the lavish Renaissance elements. Its two residential wings Da Vinci and Michelangelo alone are adorned with intricate arches and moldings, as well as marble finishes. Marble figures of Roman gods and goddesses line up in the Palazzo’s garden. The swimming pool, on the other hand, has balustrade frames and colonnade structures. Living here, Diaz will be treated to a lifestyle of opulence.

P4-Million House and Lot at Any PHirst Park Homes

Offered by another real estate giant Century Properties, the awarded property is a single-attached house unit called an Unna. According to the company’s website, the house model has 88 square meters of lot area and 54 square meters of floor area. It’s equipped with three bedrooms and two baths. It also has a provision for a compact car.

Diaz will be able to choose among the eight communities of PHirst Park Homes, all located in Luzon’s popular hotspots: Tanza and General Trias in Cavite, Lipa and Nasugbu in Batangas, San Pablo and Calamba in Laguna, Pandi in Bulacan, and Magalang in Pampanga.

These communities boast of “conceptive amenities,” aimed to promote a healthy and holistic lifestyle. The facilities include an outdoor fitness station, the fit zone composed of different playground facilities, a pool and waterplay area, and a basketball court. Some of the residential enclaves also have linear parks, outdoor cinema, and a foot reflexology zone, amenities Diaz and her family would surely find enjoyable.

All in all, it’s safe to say that the real estate assets promised to Diaz have a total value of over P20 million. It could go up in the next few days, as more companies pledge incentives.

For bringing pride and honor to the Philippines and showing the world that Filipinas can power through hardships and obstacles, our country’s first-ever Olympic gold medalist deserves all of it, if not more. Congratulations again to our weightlifting wonder!
