Local real estate moguls made it to this year’s list of the richest people in the world by Forbes magazine.
Vista Land and Landscapes chairman Manuel Villar emerged as the richest in Philippines on the Forbes World’s Billionaires List 2021, grabbing the 352nd spot with a net worth of $7.2 billion.
Ports magnate Enrique Razon Jr., who also runs hospitality firm Bloomberry Resorts, landed on the 561st spot, with a net worth of $5 billion.
LT Group’s Lucio Tan was named the third richest in the country as he ranked 925th on the Forbes list with a net worth of $3.3 billion.
The Sy siblings of the SM group continued to rake in the billions as they grabbed spots on Billionaire’s list, with Hans and Herbert Sy ranking 1008th with a net worth of $3 billion each. Harley and Teresita Sy-Coson ranked 1174th with a net worth of $2.7 billion, while Elizabeth Sy grabbed the 1,299th spot with a net worth of $2.4 billion.
Megaworld Corp. ‘s Andrew Tan tied with the two Sy siblings on the 1008th spot with also a net worth of $3 billion.
Jollibee’s Tony Tan Caktiong, who is also co-chairman of property company Double Dragon, also landed on the 1,299th spot as well, with a net worth of $2.4 billion.
San Miguel Corp. ‘s Ramon Ang ranked 1,444th on the billionaire’s list registering a net worth of $2.2 billion.
Similarly, Lance Gokongwei whose empire includes Robinsons Land entered the list landing on the 2,378th spot, with a net worth of $1.2 billion.
Upscale developer Alphaland’s Roberto Ongpin grabbed the 2,378th spot as well, with a net worth of $1.2 billion.
Century Pacific’s Ricardo Po, Sr. and family, who has interests in developer Arthaland, landed on the 2,524th spot, with a net worth of $1.1 billion.
Double Dragon Properties and Mang Inasal founder Edgar Sia II also ranked 2,524th as well, with a net worth of $1.1 billion.
Forbes counted 2,755 billionaires this year with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos leading the list.
