MANILA, Philippines — The City of Parañaque was again recognized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) among the 2020 Most Business-Friendly Local Government Units in Metro Manila during the 46th Philippine Business Conference and Expo last Oct. 8.
For this year, the PCCI focused on the strategic initiatives implemented by the LGU to address the major challenges as well as continuing efforts to maintain, promote and restore the local economy in the time of COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are motivated that the city is being consistently recognized for our business-friendly environment by no less than the PCCI, the biggest aggrupation of business organizations in the country,” Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez said.
Olivarez highlighted the city government’s approach to respond in the socio-economic impact brought by the pandemic while ensuring continuity of local business operations.
This is Parañaque’s fourth consecutive national finalist award from the PCCI.
Last year, Parañaque was also cited as Most Business-Friendly LGU in recognition of Project Express Lane (ELO) 2 under which the city’s continuing digitization of all its systems especially those involving applications for business and work permits, has enhanced investor confidence and improved service delivery.
