Catholic church goers may now attend Mass at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros after it announced it was resuming services beginning Wednesday, 16 September.
In a Facebook post yesterday, officials of the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception said daily Masses will now be officiated, although church capacity will be limited.
“Welcome home! The Manila Cathedral, the Mother Church of the country, welcomes you back to our Eucharistic celebrations, as we open our doors to the public starting 16 September 2020, Wednesday,” it said.
Only 80 people will be allowed inside during each Mass on a first-come, first-served basis.
Likewise, churchgoers are reminded that masks and face shields are required.
Mass schedules are as follows: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m.; Saturday, 7:30 a.m.; and Sunday, 8 and 10 a.m., and 6 p.m.
The cathedral is also open to the public from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
On Sundays, the faithful can here the Mass at Plaza Roma, where communion will be distributed.
The cathedral’s services may also be accessed online via livestream through its Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Following guidelines under a general community quarantine, churches may open its services to the public, but limited only to 10 percent of its full seating capacity. JC
