As most of our 2020 was spent in our homes, property seekers are looking to reside closer to nature as they expressed interest in beach homes especially in the Batangas area, a property listing site said.
“Homes by the beach grew in popularity last year, with Batangas Province earning the highest growth in leads among the identified leisure destinations at 143 percent in the second half of 2020 compared to the same period the year before,” Lamudi Philippines said.
Lamudi said that Batangas also contributed the largest share of pageviews among the leisure destinations assessed in the second half of the 2020, owning 38 percent of all pageviews for that period.
In addition, Lamudi reported a rise in leads for economic housing for sale in Batangas, as it experienced the largest uptick among price ranges in the area at 747 percent, while leads for budget rental properties priced between P5,000 to P30,000 experienced the most growth during the period.
“The preference for affordable properties is sustained in 2021 so far, as rent leads for the month of January were most prevalent in the P5,000 to P30,000 range while properties priced P450,000 to P1.5 million contributed the most leads for purchase listings.
Apart from Batangas, property seekers also expressed interest for Lapu-lapu City in Cebu, home to a number of resort-style residential developments, as it amassed 30 percent more leads and 12 percent more pageviews in the second half of 2020 compared to the year before.
In addition, Antipolo and Tagaytay also posted positive demand figures in the latter half of 2020 with pageviews rising by 86 percent and 27 percent, respectively.
Lamudi said Tagaytay contributed the highest share of leads among the assessed leisure destinations in January 2021 at 37 percent.
“The proximity of Antipolo to the metro makes it an ideal destination for homeowners who wish to live close to nature without compromising a short commute to the office, while Tagaytay continues to be an ideal vacation home or rental property for quick out-of-town trips,”Lamudi said.
Meanwhile, the property listing site noted that the vacation rental property market appears to have recovered in the second half of 2020.
It added that rental properties for listings in Antipolo, Lapu-lapu and Tagaytay attracted more inquiries from property seekers in the second half of the year, with leads for listings priced between P30,000 to P60,000, 550 percent higher than the year before.
Similarly, leads for listings priced between P60,000 to P100,000 grew by 398 percent from the second half of 2019.
“So far, rental properties priced within the P5,000 to P15,000 range attracted the most leads in January 2021,” Lamudi said.
