Some places fared better than others during the onslaught of COVID-19. With news of infections and restrictions hitting us daily, we have looked for bright spots and Pasig has been one of them.
On many fronts, this city has proven itself as a model of resilience, even going viral on social media a number of times due to its various undertakings amid the pandemic.
It thus comes as no surprise that Pasig City ranked third among the most popular real estate hotspots in Metro Manila, according to Lamudi Philippines’ latest report titled “Hotspots Unwrapped: 2020’s Most Popular Locations.” That property seekers are eyeing Pasig is a strong sign of confidence on the city’s prospects.
Lamudi revealed the most looked up property destinations on its platform based on pageviews from January to December last year. Pasig was third at 4.56 percent, next only to Quezon City (12.76 percent) and Makati (7.16 percent).
“Cities that host central business districts have maintained their popularity all throughout the year,” the Lamudi report explained.
Progressive city
Pasig City was once a sleepy riverside town. With a push from the government and stakeholders, it is now a progressive city with much to offer and a lot more to achieve. And one would find no difficulty appreciating the role Ortigas Land has played in the city’s continuous ascent.
With nine decades in property development, Ortigas Land has shaped quarters of the city into robust industrial, commercial and residential spaces. It provided enclaves for elite living through modern architecture, superb leisure experiences, competitive workplaces and opulent residences , some of which are in Pasig.
A testament to Ortigas Land’s expertise is Ortigas Center, a top business district in Metro Manila. It is a 100-ha mini-city carved from a once desolate parcel of land. Since the 1960s, it has been a throbbing apex for the capital region. Now, it has commercial spaces, business offices, residential towers and entertainment centers.
Ortigas Land also has Ortigas East, a 16-ha estate located at the corners of Ortigas Avenue, C-5 Road and Julia Vargas Avenue. Some 40 percent of the estate will be allotted to open spaces, with pocket parks and bike- and pedestrian-friendly roads. The enclave develops around Tiendesitas, a mall showcasing Filipino culture and ingenuity. It has The Glaston Tower, targeting a LEED certification, and the campus-style workplace Silver City.
In Meralco Avenue corner Shaw Boulevard is the 10-ha Capitol Commons, where one can find Estancia Mall, offering luxe dining and shopping experiences. Right above is the Estancia Offices, home to local and international companies. Workers and visitors have delighted in the generous open spaces, and the variety of retail and commercial locators.
Premium residences
According to the Lamudi report, house and condominium offerings lead the real estate types being searched on its portal. Given Pasig City’s array of premium residences—both existing and on the pipeline—the city is set to unlock various opportunities therein.
In residential condominiums, Ortigas Land has a number of existing upscale offerings and various launches slated.
In the heart of Ortigas Center will soon rise The Galleon, a two-tower, mixed-use project, while the Verdant Towers is a three-tower residential enclave in Ortigas East. Capitol Commons is meanwhile home to the Royalton, Imperium, Maven and Empress—chic homes fitted with state-of-the-art technology and amenities geared towards health and wellness.
Lamudi further noted that demand for residences is driven primarily by their proximity to workplaces.
“They remain to be popular as they offer greater convenience and mobility going to and from workplaces,” Lamudi said, explaining the resilient preference for Pasig and the other property hotspots.
Ortigas Land projects are well-known for integrating commercial, office and residential spaces in places highly accessible to the rest of the metro.
Indeed, Ortigas Land’s Pasig portfolio is well poised to provide residences that meet today’s urban demands for life, work and leisure.
