SMIC bags top awards at Institutional Investor poll

SM Investments Corporation clinched the top spot for the Most Organized Investor Relations and Strongest Adherence to Corporate Governance in this year’s 12th Annual Institutional Investor Poll.

This is the conglomerates’ 11th time to win the Most Organized Investor Relations tropy and its eight time to be named as having the Strongest Adherence to Corporate Governance.

“We are honored by this recognition from Alpha Southeast Asia and its support over the past years in recognizing the company’s efforts towards excellence in investor relations and corporate governance,” SMIC Investor Relations & Sustainability Consultant Timothy Daniels.

In the same poll, SMIC also ranked among the top for the Best Senior Management IR Support and Most Consistent Dividend Policy categories for a total of four awards.

“We continue to reach out and engage with investors all around the world, in particular those looking for emerging market growth companies with a strong sustainability drive and good governance credentials,” Daniels said.

He added that, “With easier travel this year, we are pleased to be among the earliest Asian companies visiting funds in Asia, US and Europe post pandemic and highlighting SM and the Philippines as a bright spot for investment.”

SM Investments said it recognizes the essential role of good corporate governance practices in the long-term growth, sustainability and success of the company.

As such, the company continuously develops its corporate governance culture to keep pace with the regional and global best practices.

According to the Hong Kong-based magazine, they were able to account for votes from more than 557 investors and analysts across Southeast Asia as well as the United States and Europe.

In recent years, SM Investments’ awards have reflected excellence in management, governance, investor relations and sustainability.
