Scheirman Construction Consolidated Inc. (SCCI), a fast-growing AAA construction company, has joined the ranks of companies worldwide that adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety, crucial qualifications especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
SCCI demonstrated its commitment to raise quality and safety standards in the construction industry after passing the stringent standards of Australia-based TQCS International (TQCSI), a renowned global professional certification body.
The company bagged two ISO certifications from TQCSI namely, ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and ISO 45001:2018 (Safety Management System) last June 23, 2021.
SCCI president and CEO William Russel Scheirman, Jr., said the firm is committed to provide a safe working environment for everyone especially during the pandemic. “It was a humbling experience to be awarded these certifications by TQCSI. The journey was tough especially since all preparations and the actual audit were done during the pandemic,” he said.
To attain ISO 9001:2015, SCCI demonstrated and proved its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. For ISO 45001:2018, the company underwent extensive external TQCSI audits with a firm commitment to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of SCCI’s system, including processes for consistent review and improvement.
To better position the company in the cut-throat construction industry, Scheirman said SCCI must embrace change and pursue continuous improvement.
“After all, construction is one of the pillars and a key strategic focus for our country’s economic rebound from the effects of COVID-19,” he said.
SCCI underwent an extensive company-wide audit last June 16 and 23, 2021 that includes documentation review, pre-audit, initial assessment, and clearance of Corrective Actions. The accreditation covers its corporate offices in RS City Square, Cainta, Rizal and on-going project in Cebu, listed 8990’s Urban Deca Banilad. The review covered more than 17 departments with four dozen established procedures.
“Every Industrial Engineer hopes to successfully lead an ISO project but nobody imagined pursuing one during these trying times brought by this pandemic. This makes our twin certifications doubly rewarding. We honor the commitment of our management and employees for the relentless focus on excellence, safety and quality,” said Hazel Rosettes, SCCI Lead ISO Facilitator and Vice President-Management Group.
