Megaworld to bring SuperPark to Philippines

In a statement, the property giant owned by billionaire Andrew Tan said the company has been regularly audited and that previous deficiencies have already been paid for by the firm and cleared by the BIR.

MANILA, Philippines — Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, the commercial arm of Andrew Tan-led Megaworld, is bringing SuperPark in the Philippines, a globally renowned indoor activity park.

Megaworld signed a multimillion-peso agreement with Finland-based SuperPark United to bring the brand.

Megapark Philippines Inc., a newly established company under the Megaworld Group, will operate all SuperPark Philippines outlets in the country with the first SuperPark branches to open soon  in two of Megaworld’s township developments – the 18.5-hectare Eastwood City in Quezon City and in the 50-hectare McKinley Hill in Taguig City.

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls head Graham Coates said the joint venture would provide a new leisure and recreation destination to the Philippines especially for those in Megaworld townships.

“This is in line with our continuing efforts to promote our townships as tourism destinations that host one-of-a-kind attractions for people of all ages,” Coates said.

At present, SuperPark is in multiple locations in Finland, China, Malaysia, Kuwait and Singapore.

SuperPark Philippines, including the first two in Eastwood City and McKinley Hill, will have three purpose-built themed areas offering more than 20 unique activities that will allow guests of all ages to join in the fun and keep active.

One of the key features of SuperPark is the adventure area, where toddlers can explore. Activities include an award-winning multi-story playground with obstacles, climbing structures, toddler’s ball game, and digital wall.

There will be a game arena made for sports-oriented kids and families. It mainly has sports themed activities enhanced by digital and technology.

Games include basketball, football, cycling, running, dodgeball, digital parkour and a mixed-reality game.

A freestyle hall will have trampolines with mixed-reality games, airbag, freedrop, and digital climbing walls.

There will also be games that will develop an individual’s motor skills, improve balance and agility, and boost stamina.

Megaworld said SuperPark’s target market would be “free-spirited kids, teenagers and young adults.”

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls is the pioneer of the lifestyle mall concept in the Philippines, and the retail and commercial arm of Megaworld.
