Jollibee to open 1st branch in West Malaysia

The move is part of the company’s aggressive global expansion as it targets to be among the top five restaurant companies in the world.

MANILA, Philippines — Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC), the listed Asian food conglomerate, will be opening its first restaurant in West Malaysia on Feb.8.

The move is part of the company’s aggressive global expansion as it targets to be among the top five restaurant companies in the world.



JFC’s first restaurant in West Malaysia will open at Sunway Pyramid, Klang Valley, giving West Malaysians the chance to get a taste of the brand’s Chickenjoy. Jolly Spaghetti, Yumburger and Spicy Chickenjoy.

It will feature the brand’s latest restaurant design with bright and bold wall murals that showcase Jollibee’s brands, long history in the food business, and wide store network around the world.

The restaurant can comfortably seat 62 people, following government physical distancing guidelines.

Last month, JFC also expanded in Chicago to expand its presence across North America. This marks the brand’s 57th store in the US and its third location in the state of Illinois.

JFC has also been expanding aggressively in Europe, Canada and Asia.

At present, the Jollibee Group operates in 34 countries, with over 5,800 stores globally with branches in the Philippines, United States, Canada, the People’s Republic of China, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Vietnam, Brunei, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Egypt, Panama, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan and India.



It has eight wholly owned brands (Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, Mang Inasal, Yonghe King, Hong Zhuang Yuan, Smashburger); six franchised brands (Burger King, Panda Express, PHO24, and Yoshinoya in the Philippines; Dunkin’ and Tim Ho Wan in certain territories in China).

JFC also has 80 percent ownership of The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and 60 percent ownership in the SuperFoods Group that owns Highlands Coffee and PHO24.
