IKEA Pasay City opens Nov 25

Located in the Mall of Asia Complex, IKEA Pasay City is the biggest IKEA store in the world

IKEA is finally opening the door of its first store in the Philippines in the Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City on November 25. Touted as the biggest IKEA store in the world, the store has a total surface area of 68,000 square-meters (equal to 150 basketball courts) distributed across 5 floors, 2 of which houses its brick-and-mortar retail space. The other levels are dedicated to its warehouse as well as its call center to handle the e-commerce side of the business.

“More than 500 co-workers have been hard at work preparing for this very special day, and we are all very excited to open our doors and show what IKEA is all about,” said Georg Platzer, Store Manager of IKEA Pasay City. “It has been a challenging couple of years, but we are proud that even through a pandemic, we are now ready to build a better everyday life with the many people in the Philippines.”

All over the world, millions of people flock IKEA stores not just for the products, but for the engaging and inspiring in-store experience. It’s a store with something for every age and taste. At IKEA Pasay City, visitors will find a Showroom and Market Hall with a total of 8,000 products laid out in a way that makes them feel both in-home and at home. There is also a restaurant with a capacity for 850 people that operates according to strict COVID-19 measures, and a marketplace where various Swedish food products will be for sale, which includes a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan products like meatballs, hot dogs, and ice cream. Visitors will end their in-store journey at the Self-Serve

area where they can now bring home the furniture they love.

Safety first at IKEA Pasay City

Amidst the ongoing pandemic, IKEA’s top priority remains to be the health and safety of its co-workers and visitors by following local health protocols and guidelines. Therefore, the store will only be receiving a limited number of people per day via a slot booking system.

To schedule a visit to IKEA Pasay City, customers must visit ikea.ph and follow these 3 steps: 1. Book a date and time slot; 2. Choose number of visitors (up to 3); and 3. Get a digital token. IKEA Family members will be getting early access to book shopping slots.

“Safety continues to be our number one priority, which is why we are taking the necessary steps to safeguard everyone when they visit our Pasay City store. I ask visitors for their patience and compliance with the booking system we have in place. Rest assured that our team is ready to serve you and provide the best possible IKEA experience on your scheduled booking,” said Platzer.
