Food and infrastructure giant San Miguel Corp. (SMC) has set the opening date of the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT 7) elevated railway on December 2022.
The P63-billion project will link North Avenue in Quezon City to San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, serving hundreds of thousands of passengers per day.
“We’re confident we can achieve full, complete operations by December next year,” SMC president Ramon Ang said on Friday.
He said the first test run is targeted in June 2022. Construction of MRT 7 started in 2016. It was scheduled for completion in 2019 but was pushed back to 2020 and then to 2022. —Miguel R. Camus
