You can say the year 2020 is a huge stressor. As if the COVID-19 pandemic is not stressful enough, we still have to deal with the adjustments that come with working from home, turtle-slow Internet connection, not seeing our family (if we want to be safe from the virus), the onslaught of typhoons, and the news. In times like these, going away for a relaxing weekend—one that’s close to nature—helps.

Check out these farm resorts for when you want to destress:

Opened in 2010, the 45-hectare Damires Hills Tierra Verde Leisure Farm in Janiuay, Iloilo introduces guests to organic farming and aquaphonics while providing rooms and cottages inspired by the traditional bahay kubo. The resort has three swimming pools, one of which is overlooking the verdant farmlands; KTV rooms that can accommodate up to 15 guests; a 350-meter zip line; and ATVs for a rough-road adventure.

Rates start at P10,000

Tucked in the tropical forests of Batangas, The Farm at San Benito provides a much-needed retreat and “healing journey” with lush gardens as your setting. The luxury villas reflect the natural setting of this oasis, from wood-beamed ceilings to roofs made of thatched straw, but still maintain modern amenities such as WiFi, iPod docking stations, and a heated pool with hydro jets. With quarantine measures still in place, they currently provide touchless therapy for detox, pain management, and immune-boosting programs.

Preziosa used to be a crop cultivation site before becoming a full-fledged botanic park and farm resort in 2008. Here, you can find villas that take inspiration from Japanese, Thai,  and Balinese designs that come with jacuzzi pools. The farm also has camping grounds, a mini-ampitheater, and function rooms. As part of their COVID-19 safety measures, they accommodate only one family or group at a time; you can opt for a day tour or an overnight stay.

Promo rates start at P1,500

Bohol Bee Farm doesn’t only offer a great way to experience farm life; they’re also dedicated to organic farming and bee cultivation. They encourage local farmers to choose composting and companion planting over spending for expensive fertilizers that could harm the ecosystem. Interested guests can also be part of a 30-minute walking tour around the bee farm premises, the organic herb and vegetable garden, and a crafting area. To jumpstart tourism after months of closure, Bohol Bee Farm is offering discounted room rates with breakfast meals included.
